The goal of the Jacksonville Fencing Club is to promote the classical sport of fencing. The club has been in existence since the 1950's and has a rich tradition of excellence in its instruction. The club has had many champions among its ranks over the years and continues to do so. The club is open to ages 8 to 98 and offers a variety of opportunities for the novice up to the competitive fencer. The club is coached by Mr. Raul Toro who has over 40 years experience in the sport. So if you are looking for a sport to get or stay fit, build discipline and build confidence, this is the sport for YOU! This is a sport for children and adults alike. This is a sport for a lifetime! The Jacksonville Fencing Club is home to Princess Rashid the 2006 National Women's Epee Champion and Lance Tan the 2011 Pan Am Games Youth Epee champion. Also home to a cadre of currently nationally ranked youth.

JACKSONVILLE FENCER COMPETES AT THE GATEWAY SABER CIRCUIT EVENT

The Gateway Sabre circuit event was held on November 13th in Newberry, Florida . Congratulations to Joshua Derbabian for finishing first and earning a “D” rating.

JACKSONVILLE FENCERS FENCE IN THE ST. LOUIS SUPER YOUTH CIRCUIT EVENT

The St. Louis Super Youth Circuit Event was held on November 5th and 6th in St. Louis, Missouri. Lance Tan competed in the Y1o Men’s Foil and the Y10 Men’s Epee. He finished second in the Y10 Epee event and finished first in the Y10 Foil event. on his way to winning the gold in foil he defeated the Mexican Y10 National Champion and the Romanian Y10 Champion. Congratulations to Lance for his performance at the event and also for winning the Pan American Y10 Epee this past summer.

Also competing was Bryce Bogert who won a bronze in the Y12 Epee.

The medal count for this season stands at 30.

JFC HOSTS VARIOUS GIRL SCOUT TROOPS FROM THE GREATER JACKSONVILLE AREA

The Jacksonville fencing club held a demonstration for various girl scout troops form the greater Jacksonville area on November 5th. There were 21 girl scouts who enjoyed themselves learning about the sport of fencing and trying there hand at it.

JFC FENCER COMPETES AT THE BLACK WIDOW OPEN

On October 29th the Winter Garden Fencing Club hosted the Black Widow Open Women’s event.  Congratulations to Victoria Ge for finishing 2nd in the Y12 event and 3rd in the Y14 event.

The medal count stands at 27 for this season.

JACKSONVILLE HOSTS THE FIRST ANNUAL JAX O’ LANTERN TOURNAMENT

The Jacksonville Fencing Club hosted the first annual Jax O’ Lantern on October 29th and 30th. It was a fun event and the winners were either given a trick or treat. Congratulations to Josh Derbabian fencing in his first epee event and earning a D rating.
